Keene, NH — The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team was in action on Tuesday night at Keene State University for a non-conference contest with the Owls. After playing to a 2-2 tie at the half, Keene State scored a pair of second half goals to earn the 4-2 win. Keene State is now 8-8, while the loss puts Sage at 7-10.

Sage's sophomore forward Natalie Ricci (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) scored the first goal of the match at the 4:56 mark. She struck once again on a pass from senior Kristin Silk (Freehold, NY/Greenville) at 16:29 to give Sage a 2-0 lead. 

Keene State got on the scoreboard as Maggie Vogt scored at 26:10. Just before the half, Kayleigh Marshall scored on an assist from Alex Kennedy at the 38:06 mark to tie the game. Midway through the second half, Patricia Norton scored at 74:34 to give the Owls a 3-2 lead. Moments later Victoria Reynolds scored at 79:29 to give Keene State the 4-2 lead.

For the game, Sage's rookie keeper Kallan Shertzer (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) tied her personal-best as she made 14 saves in the action. She made 14 saves in her Sage debut on August 30 at Cortland State and is tied for the 8th spot on Sage's single-games saves list. Shertzer drops to 7-10 in goal.

Keene State used two keepers as Shelby Offord worked the first half and collected the win with six saves, while Abigail Terrinca worked the second half and had two saves with no goals allowed.

Ricci leads the Gators in scoring as she has 10 goals and 25 points. With her appearance on Tuesday, senior Maegan Villa (Marlboro, NY/Washingtonville) is now tied for the second most game played at Sage with 72. She is tied with Savanah Mason, Nicole Bauer and Ariannah Logan as they all played in 72 games at Sage.  

The Gators will be back in action on November 2 at Hartwick College for a noon Empire 8 match with the Hawks that will decide the field for the 2019 Empire 8 playoff field.
