Nazareth halts Sage women's soccer win streak

Rochester, NY — The Sage Colleges' women's soccer squad visited Nazareth College on Saturday for an Empire 8 match. The host Golden Flyers collected a 1-0 win to improve to 8-3-1 overall and 3-0-1 I the Empire 8. The loss puts Sage at 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The loss snaps the Gators' three-game win streak.

Nazareth got the lone goal of the match at 16:56 from Caleigh Cahoon to give the Golden Flyers a 1-0 lead at the half. Sage had some chances, but Nazareth's keeper Hannah Miller made four saves in earning the shutout win for her squad.

Sage's rookie keeper Kallan Shertzer (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) finished with nine saves in the match and is now 7-5 in goal this fall.

Sage is back in action on October 15 travelling to Vermont to take on Castleton University in a 7 p.m. non-conference match on Tuesday night.
