Trimblett also recognized by Empire 8 for her efforts last week!

Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team member, senior forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was selected as this week's Empire 8 Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week.  Trimblett paced the Gators to a 2-0 week with a 2-0 win over SUNY-Delhi and a 6-1 Empire 8 road win over Houghton College.

She finished the week with four goals including a hat trick in Sage's road win over Houghton on October 20. A starter in 13 of 16 matches this season, Trimblett leads Sage in scoring and points this fall, marking her fourth consecutive year that she has held that distinction. On the 2018 season, she has 21 points on nine goals with three assists and two game-winning goals.  In the match on Saturday at Houghton, she moved into the No. 2 spot on the Gators career point list as she has 113 points. She moved ahead of Kelley Richer (1991-1994) who had 111 points. Trimblett also holds the Sage career assist mark with her 23 assists and is also third now in career goals with 45. She has also racked up 12 career game-winning goals in her 65 matches played at Sage and was named to last year's Empire 8 Women's Soccer All-Conference Second Team as a junior.

An accomplished scholar-athlete, she is also current candidate for the 2018 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team.

Sage is now 9-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the league and will host Hartwick College on October 23 in a 7 p.m. Empire 8 match at ACP's Athletic Field.
