Trimblett adds 100th career point in Sage's 2-1 road win; Trimblett also ties career assist mark in the process

Utica, NY – The Sage Colleges women's soccer team outshot host Utica College, 12-5 as the Gators defeated the Pioneers, 2-1 in an Empire 8 game at Gaetano Stadium Wednesday. The Gators improved to 5-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the E8 while the Pioneers fell to 5-4-2 for the fall and 2-1-1 in the league. Sage also ended Utica's five game undefeated streak (4-0-1 in the last five).

Sage senior goalkeeper Emma Augustine (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville) made three stops while Allison Wagner stopped four shots for Utica. The Pioneers had both corners in the game.

Freshman forward Hallie Klosterman (Modena, NY/Wallkill) opened the scoring with her second goal at 25:23 on a pass from senior forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury). Senior midfielder Ariannah Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) added what proved to be much needed insurance with her second goal of the year at 79:45, assisted by Trimblett. That assist gave Trimblett 100 career points while also helping her to tie the Sage career assist mark in the process.

For Trimblett, she now has 39 career goals, which ranks third all-time on the Sage career goal list, while she also boasts 100 career points (39g, 22a) and is also third in career points. She becomes a member of an exclusive club at Sage with three members having collected 100 career points. She is third in scoring with 100 points, behind Kelly Richer (1991-1994, 111 points) and Rebecca Marszalek (2008-2011, 115 points). She also tied the career assist mark in the process that she holds with Ashley Allain (2007-2009) with 22 assists. 

Kierra Caissey ended the Sage shutout bid when she scored on a penalty kick at 86:58. Her shot was high to the right side to make it 2-1.
