Women's soccer falls to Hartwick in season finale

Oneonta, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team wrapped the 2017 season on Saturday travelling to Hartwick for the final Empire 8 regular-season contest of the year. Hartwick collected a 2-0 win to earn the regular-season crown in the league and the top seed for the upcoming tournament. Hartwick stands at 12-5-1 overall and went 7-1 in the Empire 8, while Sage wraps the season at 6-9-1 overall and posted a 2-5-1 mark in conference play.

Hartwick scored one goal in each half on Saturday as Bridget Reilly scored the game-winner at 7:24 for her first goal of the season on a pass from Allie Ricci. In the opening minutes of the second half, Rachel Pine scored on a feed from Kiley Richardson at 51:40 and helped the Hawks to the won.

Sage's junior goalie Emma Augustine (Wawarsing, NY/Ellenville) collected 12 saves in the afternoon, while Hartwick's Cassie Robataille made six saves in collecting the shutout win.
