Sage falls to Plattsburgh State on the road

Plattsburgh, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team made a trip to Plattsburgh State for a non-conference contest with the Cardinals. Plattsburgh State posted the 3-1 win to improve to 7-3-1, while Sage drops to 4-5 on the season.

Sage trailed 2-1 at the half after Rachael Moran collected her first goal of the season as she put the ball over Sage's junior goalie Emma Augustine (Wawarsing, NY/Ellenville) at 17:41. Madeline Saccocio put Plattsburgh up 2-1 as she added her 12th goal of the year at 20:01.

Sage's junior forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) put the Gators on the scoreboard in the first half with her team-leading sixth goal of the year at the 25:44 mark.  Trimblett is making her climb of the Sage women's soccer scoring list as she now has 33 goals and 86 points. She is currently tied for the No. 3 spot in career points with Nicole Maher (86 points, 2012-2015).

Augustine made eight saves in the match, while Plattsburgh's Nichole Gibson made eight saves.

Next up for the Gators, they will travel to Alfred University for a 1 p.m. Empire 8 match on October 7 and a 1 p.m. road match-up with E8 foe, Nazareth on October 8.
