Rochester, NY- The goalie for Sage's women's soccer team, junior Emma Augstine (Wawarsing, NY/Ellenville) was selected as the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on September 25.

Emma Augustine came up big for Sage this week posting a 0.93 GAA and .905 saves percentage in a 1-1 week. She earned the win in net making five save as Sage knocked off SUNY-Potsdam, 1-0 in 2OT. She backed up that performance with a career-best 14 saves as Sage fell to Hamilton on Sunday.

On the season, Augustine who is a first-year starter for Sage in net, now boasts a 4-2 record in net with an impressive 1.81 goals against average on the year, having made eight starts. She has helped Sage to three shutouts this fall with a .778 saves percentage in net.

Next up for the Gators, they will host St. John Fisher College in conjunction with an Empire 8 doubleheader as Sage's women's and men's team both play at home at the ACP Athletic Complex. Sage will be holding their Coaches vs. Cancer games on Saturday with proceeds from the contest benefitting the American Cancer Society.
