LOGAN PROVIDES 2ND OT SPARK TO LIFT SAGE WOMEN'S SOCCER PAST POTSDAM, 1-0

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team hosted the Bears of SUNY-Potsdam on Tuesday night and needed overtime, but topped the Bears, 1-0 in the second overtime as junior midfielder Ariannah Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) connected for the goal to snap the Gators' losing streak. With the win, Sage is now 4-3 overall, while Potsdam falls to 6-2-1.

The two teams exchanged a series of hard shots in the early part of the second half but neither was able to score in regulation. Sage's Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) had a direct kick and the shot was tipped over the cross bar by rookie keeper Gabby Hobika (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) with 30:48 left in the second. Minutes later, Potsdam's junior Brooke Falsion (Brockport, NY/Brockport) had a break away and Sage's junior goalie Emma Augustine (Wawarsing, NY/Ellenville) committed and made the kick save preventing a sure goal.

Headed to overtime, both teams exchanged shots and saves before Sage's junior Dominique Puglisi (Schenectady, NY/Scotia Glenville) had a serve from the right side into the front goal area and Ariannah Logan fired a shot to the back left side beyond the reach of Hobika to end the game after 103 plus minutes of play.

The goal was the fourth of the year for Logan and her second game-winner on the year.

For Sage, Augustine finished with five saves in earning her second shutout of the season. Hobika made four saves in the loss.

Next up for the Gators, they will host Hamilton College on Sunday, Sept. 24 at noon at ACP's Athletic Field. The Bears of SUNY-Potsdam are back in action on September 23 hosting Plattsburgh State at 1 p.m.
