Sage Women's Soccer Team among NCAA National Stats Leaders for 2016

Indianapolis, IN –With the release of the final NCAA Division III Women's Soccer statistics for the 2016 season, The Sage Colleges' team and several players were ranked for their outstanding performances this past fall. The Gators posted a 12-8 mark on the season with a 7-2 showing in the Skyline Conference after advancing the league tournament's semifinals for the third straight year. Rookie Head Coach Garrett Cobb's team finished nationally ranked 13 team categories for the 2016 campaign.

Sage was ranked ninth nationally in assists per game average (2.75), while also ranking 12th in points per game average (9.25), 16th in scoring offense (3.25), as well as 10th in total assists (55), 21st in total goals (65), and 14th in total points (185).

Sophomore forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), who earned Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Year honors, finished the year with 40 points on 16 goals and eight assists. She was ranked in nine different categories on the 2016 year. Among her feats, she was ranked 38th nationally with her 40 total points, while also standing 42nd in total goals (16), and 83rd in assists (8), as well as 79th with her four game-winning goals.

As a rookie, Trimblett had 31 points on 11 goals with nine assists and four game-winning goals. Only a sophomore, she is already rewriting the program's record book as she boasts 71 career points. She stands fourth all-time in career points, while her 27 career goals which is sixth best. He 17 career assists ranks fifth best as well.

Sophomore forward Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen), Trimblett, senior Cassidy Bruen (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) and senior Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) all ranked among the national leaders as well in assists per game averages. Marfone ranked 48th nationally with her 0.50 assists per game average, while ranked 43rd nationally with her 10 assists in 2016. Bruen added 8 assists on the season and caps her stellar Sage career with 20 career assists, which ranks No. 2 all-time as a Gator.  Lynch ranked in six different categories, while adding 28 points on 10 goals and 8 assists this past fall. Lynch caps her career ranking in a tie for 4th best in career points with 71 points (29 g, 13 a).

Sage goalie Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) also figured into the final rankings for 2016 after the rookie finished the year ranked in four different goalkeeping categories. She started all 20 games for Sage and ranked 91st in total goalie minutes played this past fall (1,662), while also ranking in saves percentage (.784), saves per game average (4.9), and total saves (98), which was 117th best in the country.
