Trimblett Receives Fourth Skyline Co-Player of Week Honor

NEW YORK – Sage's Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) garnered her fourth Skyline Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week honor of the 2016 season.

Trimblett scored a pair of game-winning goals on Sage's 2-0 week. The forward converted on an overtime penalty kick at Sarah Lawrence in Sage's last regular season game. Trimblett went on to score the game-winner and add two assists in the first round of the Skyline Championship in a 4-0 win over five seeded St. Joseph's – Long Island.

The sophomore is one of the top offensive players in the nation ranking 5th in shots/game (5.88), 17th in shots-on-goal/game (three), 24th in assists/game (0.56), 26th in points/game (2.35) and 28th in points (40). She also leads the Skyline in shots/game and game-winning goals (four).

Trimblett leads the Gatos in multiple categories including goals (16), goals/game (0.94), points, points/game (2.35), shots (100), shots/game, shots-on-goal (51), game-winning goals (four), shots-on-goal/game and penalty kicks (one). Also leading Sage statistically are Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen) (10 assists, 0.53 assists/game), Ariannah Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) (.259 shot percentage), Maegan Villa (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) (.769 shot-on-goal percentage) and Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) (93 saves, 4.89 saves/game, 12 wins, .788 save percentage, 1.43 goals-against-average, nine shutouts).

Joining Trimblett as the Co-Skyline Player of the Week is Julia McGowan from Mount Saint Vincent. McGowan netted her second hat trick of the season along with the game-winning goal against Purchase in the first round of the Skyline Championship. Additionally, Sarah Rosionowski from SUNY-Old Westbury was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week. Rosionowski scored two goals in a 6-0 win over Maritime.

The fourth seeded Gators play in the conference semifinals tomorrow night at the one seeded Farmingdale State (9-8-3, 9-0 Skyline). Sage goes into the contest nationally ranked in assists (6th, 55), points (8th, 185), assists/game (10th, 2.89), points/game (15th, 9.74), shots-on-goal/game (16th, 12.11), scoring offense (18th, 3.42) and shots/game (26th, 21.79). Kickoff against the Rams is set for 4 p.m.
