Sage Tops Sarah Lawrence in Overtime

YONKERS, NY - Sage's sophoore Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe/Woodbury) lifted the Gators over Sarah Lawrence on a penalty kick in the 97th minute of action on Tuesday night.

Sage (11-7,7-2 Skyline) dominated regulation outshooting Sarah Lawrence (5-10, 2-7 Skyline) 15-1 in the first half and 11-2 in the second half before scoring in the overtime on Trimblett's penalty kick.

Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) (11-7) earned the win with two saves while Sarah Lawrence's Rachell Mosquera (5-9) picked up the loss on an imnpressive 16 save effort.

Trimblett recorded a game-high 10 shots followed by Sage's Jordyn Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) with six shots.

On the season, Trimblett leads the Gators with her 36 points on 15 goals with six assists. She already boasts a career resume that has 67 career points (No. 5) with 26 goals (No. 8). Senior Savannah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) also tied Sage's career games played mark in the action as she played in her 70th game as a Gator. She tied the record held by Lisa Reles (2004-2007).

With tonight's win, Sage has garnered the four seed in the Skyline after a three-way tie breaker. The Gators are set to host the #5 Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's - Long Island on Sat. Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Athletic Complex. The winner will advance to the semifinal match-up at Farmingdale State on November 2 at 4 p.m.
