Gators Drop Heartbreaker in Overtime

FARMINGDALE, NY – Sage shutout Farmingdale State during 90 minutes of regulation play, but it wasn't enough as Destiny Pomarico scored for the Rams in the 93rd minute to end the stalemate.

Farmingdale (8-8-3, 8-0 Skyline) had five straight shots to start the half until Sage's (10-7, 6-2 Skyline) Savannah Mason () had a header in the 21st minute that was saved by Ashley Monzillo.

After Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) saved Kimberly LiVecchi's shot in the 27th minute, Sage's Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen) and Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) each had shots saved in the 29th and 30th minutes.

Robataille put on a clinic in goal for the remainder of regulation to force overtime. With only two minutes off the clock, Pomarico took a shot from 20 yards out that found the back of the Gator net.

Farmingdale's Daniella Ford (7-6-2) was credited with the win while Robataille (10-7) picked up the loss on a six save effort.

The Rams currently top the Skyline with 24 points followed by Sage and Mount Saint Vincent with 21 points apiece.
