Sage Scores Season-High 12 Goals in Skyline Win

TROY, NY – Sage's Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) recorded her second career hat-trick Saturday afternoon against SUNY-Old Westbury in a 12-0 Skyline win.

Leading the way in the 6-0 first half was Sage (9-6, 5-1 Skyline) freshman Maegan Villa (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) with one goal and two assists. Trimblett followed with one goal and one assist in the first half. Also adding goals in the first 45 minutes of action were Savannah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park), Jordyn Logan (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie), Madison Spohr (Ramstein, Germany/Ramstein) and Sarah Hume (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes). Joining Villa and Trimblett on first half assists was senior Cassidy Bruen (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville).

Sage continued to dominate on offense with another six goals. Trimblett added two more goals to her total to lock in the hat-trick while Hume added to her total with another goal and an assist. Also scoring in the second half were Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties), Alyssa Lepper (Remsen, NY/Poland Central) and Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen). The Gators continued to be unselfish with the ball as they saw second half assists from Bruen, Marfone and Rachel Ball (Waterford, NY/Catholic Central).

Sage's Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) (9-6) was credited with the win on a three save effort while Old Westbury's (4-8-1, 2-5 Skyline) Jessica Tuckruskye picked up the loss with six saves. Trimblett led the game with 12 shots followed by Marfone, Lynch and Hume with four each.

Today's win was Sage's sixth shutout of the year. Contributing to the shutout in goal and on defense were Robataille, Bruen, Spohr, Emma Augustine (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville), Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Milbrook), Shelby Ruppenthal (Albany, NY/Guilderland), Brittany Gage (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush), Nicole Hume (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), Keeley Paull (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) and Nicole Bauer (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury).

Sage currently sits third in the Skyline with 15 points behind undefeated Farmingdale State with 21 points and Mount Saint Vincent with 18 points.

The Gators look to Wed. Oct., 19 for their next game featuring Purchase College on Senior Night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the ACP Athletic Complex.
