Women's Soccer Rolls over Maritime, 9-0

Albany, NY –The Sage women's soccer team hosted the Privateers of Maritime College on Friday night in a Skyline Conference match. The Gators strolled to a 9-0 win to improve to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the Skyline. Maritime drops to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in the league. Sage led 4-0 at the half and cruised the team's fourth straight league victory.

Sage's senior forward Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) connected for five points after scoring two goals with an assist, while sophomore forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) added two goals in the action. Trimblett leads the squad this fall with her 9 goals and 4 assists for 22 points, while Lynch is the team's second leading scorer with 8 goals and 5 assists for 21 points. Lynch stands No. 5 all-time at Sage with her 27 career goals, while adding 65 career points which is now tied for No. 5 on the Sage career list as well with Susan McBride (65 points, 2000-2003).

Senior Savannah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) added a goal and an assist, elevating her personal total to include 25 goals and 8 assists and 58 points which is also among the program's leader board. She ranks No. 5 in goals, No. 6 in points and No. 10 in career games played (64).

Rookies Maegan Villa (Rack Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) and Giovanna Fichera (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central) both scored, while Fichera added an assist as Villa tallied the game-winner, the first on her Sage career.

Sage's rookie goalie Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) earned the win after making one save in 71 plus minutes of work. She shared in the shutout win with junior Emma Augustine (Wawarsing, NY/Ellenville) giving the Gators four this season.

Sage is back in action on October 9 travelling to New York City to face Yeshiva University in a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference contest on Sunday.
