Gators fall at Potsdam, 4-1

Potsdam, NY –The Sage women's soccer team travelled to Potsdam State for a non-conference match-up with the Bears. The host Bears tallied a 4-1 win over the Gators to improve to 4-1 on the season. The loss puts Sage at 3-3 on the year.

Potsdam scored first as Olivia Seamans scored her second goal of the year at the 5:23 mark. Sage's senior Savanah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) tied the action on a pass from senior forward Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) and helped the Gators take a 1-1 tie into the intermission.

Potsdam took a 2-1 lead at Rylie Murray scored her first goal of the season at 56:34 before Seamans added her second goal of the action to put the Bears up 3-1 at 62:36.  The Bears added a final score of the night at 70:54 as Kaylen Van Wagner tallied her third goal of the year on a feed from Ciara Norris.

Sage's rookie goalie Cassy Robataille (Amerstdam, NY/Amsterdam) took the loss after six saves on 17 shots faced. Potsdam's Bri Thibeau picked up the win after making three saves on eight Gator shots faced.

For the Gators, both Mason and Lynch have 55 career points and are tied with one another for the No. 7 spot in career points. Mason, who has 24 career goals which is No. 6 at Sage, while Lynch's 8 career assists is 14th.

Sage is back in action on September 21 when they travel to College of Mt. St. Vincent for the Skyline Conference opening match of the season at 5 p.m.
