Lynch and Fichera Sweep Skyline Weekly Honors

NEW YORK – Sage's Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) and Giovanna Fichera (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall) swept the women's soccer Skyline week two honors.

Lynch was honored as the Skyline Player of the Week after being named to the honor roll last week. The senior scored two goals along with an assist in Sage's 5-0 win over Southern Vermont. With that performance, the forward moves into sixth in career goals (23) and seventh in points (53) in Sage school history. Lynch currently leads the Skyline in goals (five), assists (two), points (12) and game-winning goals (two).

Fichera was the second Gator in a row to be tapped as the Skyline Rookie of the Week after Cassy Robataille (Amerstdam, NY/Amerstdam) picked up the honor last week. The freshman scored her first collegiate goal against Southern Vermont off a corner kick in the 13th minute. Fichera followed up her goal with her first collegiate assist later in the game. The midfielder's three points on the season are the most of any freshman in the Skyline.

Sage is currently 3-2 on the season, and plays SUNY-Potsdam on Wed. Sept., 14 at 7 p.m. for their next game. The Gators open up Skyline play at Mt. St. Vincent on Wed. Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.
