Robataille Named Skyline Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

Skyline Week 1 Release

NEW YORK – Freshman Cassy Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) was named the first Skyline Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the 2016 season.

The goalkeeper helped Sage to a 2-1 opening week with a 1.66 goals against average, .783 save percentage and 18 saves. Robataille helped Sage to a 4-3 overtime win over Albany College of Pharmacy (ACP) in her collegiate debut. The freshman recorded her first collegiate shutout the next day against SUNY-New Paltz with a 1-0 win. In the final game of the week, Robataille had the most saves in a single contest of any Skyline keeper during week one with 13 saves against No. 23 Ithaca in a 2-0 loss.

Joining Robataille in weekly Skyline honors is senior Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) was tapped for the honor roll. Lynch had a five point week with two goals and one assist. The senior recorded her assist and the game-winning overtime goal against ACP. Lynch found herself the hero again against New Paltz when she netted the game-winning goal in the 77th minute. At the end of the week, Lynch was leading the Skyline in total points, goals, assists, goals/game (.667), game-winning goals and game-winners/game (.667).

Receiving the Skyline Player of the Week honor was SUNY-Old Westbury's Melissa Outsen. Outsen scored two goals against Mount Aloysius. It was the senior's fourth career multi-goal outing.

Sage plays their home opening weekend at the ACP Athletic Complex. The Gators play Plattsburgh State on Fri. Sept., 9 at 4 p.m. and follow with Southern Vermont the next night at 7 p.m.
