Trimblett tallies a pair as Sage beats Maritime 5-0 in Skyline Women's Soccer Action

Throggs Neck, NY –The Sage women's soccer team traveled to Maritime College for a Skyline Conference match-up on Friday night. The Gators led 4-0 at the half and cruised to 5-0 shutout win as they improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Skyline Conference.

Rookie forward Samantha Trimblett (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) provided a spark for the Gators as she scored  the first two goals of the match, including the game-winner. She leads Sage with her five goals and 13 points.

Rookie Joleen Marfone (Remsen, NY/Remsen) added a goal and an assist giving her eight points this fall on three goals and two assists.

Senior tri-captain Nicole Maher (Glen Clove, NY/Saint Dominic) made the start in net and played just 17 plus minutes in goal with one save and shared in the shutout win with rookie Emaleigh Maloney (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh). Maher, played most of the game as a forward and handed out a pair of assists, giving her a team-leading five assists this fall. Maloney made six saves in the action in nearly 74 minutes of work in goal.

Maher now has 80 career points which is No. 3 all-time at Sage, while her 18 career assists is No. 2. She moved into a tie with Christine Hugaboom (1997-2000) with 18 on Friday and is closing in on the career mark set by Ashley Allain (2007-2009) with 22.

Sage returns to action on September 27 for a 1 p.m. home Skyline Conference match-up with St. Joseph's (LI) at nearby Albany College of Pharmacy's Athletic Complex.
