Sage falls in women's soccer, 1-0 to Keuka

Potsdam, NY –The Sage women's soccer team wrapped up competition on Sunday afternoon facing Keuka College in the Potsdam State Cup. Keuka picked up a 1-0 win to improve to 1-2 on the year, while Sage stands at 1-2 on the year.

The two teams played a scoreless first half as the Gators dominated Keuka with their 13-5 edge on shots in the first 45 minutes of play. Despite Sage's 24 shots on goal on Sunday, Keuka scored the lone goal of the afternoon as Abbey David scored at 64:41, marking her second goal of the season. The Gators had several chances but could not put the tying goal in the net.

Sage's rookie keeper Emalaigh Maloney (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) made two saves in the action, while Keuka's Kenna Kosniski made 11 saves to earn the shutout win.

Sage is back in action on Wednesday, September 9 at SUNY-Cobleskill in a 4 p.m. non-conference match-up.
