Yonkers, NY – Sage's women's soccer team faced Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday night in a Skyline Conference match held at Tibetts Brook Park and came away with 13-0 win after leading 5-0 at the half. Sage improves to 8-4-2 overall and 5-2 in the league. With the convincing conference win, the Gators have clinched a spot in the upcoming Skyline Conference Tournament under the guidance of rookie head coach Andrew Gamarra. The Gators will be returning to the Skyline Conference tournament after missing it last season, and with their 2014 appearance have now qualified seven times in the eight years since joining the league in 2007.

The 13-goal performance by the Gators sets a record for most goals in a game, bettering a 12-goal effort on Oct. 15, 1997 when Sage beat Albany College of Pharmacy.

Sophomore forward Taylor Lynch (Woodstock, NY/Saugerties) exploded for four goals in the contest as the Gators dominated the Gryphons, outshooting them 36-1. Junior Shelby Ruppenthal (Albany, NY/Guilderland) added four assists, while sophomore forward Savannah Mason (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) added two goals.   Junior co-captain Nicole Maher (Glen Cover, NY/Saint Dominic) added a goal and two assists as well, while even Sage's senior goalie Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) got to play as a field player and scored the final goal of the night to cap the action.

On the fall, Mason now has a personal-best 28 points on 13 goals and 2 assists, while Maher has elevated her season total to 16 points on 6 goals and 4 assists. Maher is making her run for Sage's scoring mark as she now has 58 points, which is No. 5 at Sage as she has 23 goals and 12 assists.

Twice this fall, two Sage players have also bettered a single-game mark with four goals. The first was the four-goals scored by Mason in Sage's 4-3 win over SUNY-Old Westbury. The second was Lynch's efforts in the win over SLC tonight. Numerous players have had hat tricks in Sage's women's soccer history. The four-assist effort by Ruppenthal also is a new high-water mark for assists as she bettered the old mark of three also helpd by several players in the program's history.

Sage's keeper Waddingham finished the night with a shared shutout performance with rookie Ashley Donovan (West Coxsackie, NY/Coxsackie-Athens). Waddingham stands No. 4 on the Gators' record book with her 288 saves.

Sage returns to action on Saturday, October 25 hosting Maritime College in a 3:30 p.m. Skyline Conference match that will take place at Albany College of Pharmacy's Athletic Complex. The Gators will honor their 2014 seniors in conjunction with Senior Day at halftime. They are Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) and Melissa Spring (Penfield, NY/Penfield).
