Sage falls to St. Joe's in women's soccer action

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team hosted the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College (LI) on Sunday afternoon in a Skyline Conference match. The Golden Eagles collected a 3-0 win to improve to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the league, while the loss puts Sage at 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the Skyline on the fall.

Leading 1-0 at the half, SJC picked up a second goal at the 56:16 mark as junior forward Jennifer Martino (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) on a feed from Garcia and sophomore Lauren Heschi (Medford, NY/St. John Baptist). The final tally came on an own goal providing St. Joseph's with a 3-0 victory.  

Sage's junior goalkeeper Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) connected for 11 saves in the action, while St. Joseph's sophomore goalie Cristiana Votta (East Islip, NY/East Islip) made one save in earning the shutout win for her efforts.

Sage returns to action on Friday, October 11 travelling to Maritime College foe a 5 p.m. Skyline Conference game, while St. Joseph's (LI) College hosts Sarah Lawrence on October 8 in a 7:30 p.m. non-conference match.
