Rams Top Sage in Skyline Women's Soccer Action

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Saturday afternoon in a Skyline Conference match held at Colonie High School. The Rams opened Skyline Conference play with a 5-0 win over Sage to improve to 5-5 overall and 1-0 as the seven-time defending league champions.  Sage falls to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the Skyline on the fall.

FSC took a 2-0 lead at the break as rookie Alena Gannon (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) connected for a goal at 23:40 and sophomore Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, NY/North Sachem) tallied the first of two goals on the afternoon. Thompson finished the day with five points on two goals and an assist as she leads the FSC team with her 19 points this fall.

Sage's junior goalkeeper Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) connected for 11 saves in the action while FSC's freshman Ashley Monzillo (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) made one save in earning the win.

Sage returns to action on Wednesday, October 2 travelling to Mt. St. Mary College for a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference match on the road.
