Panthers take battle of New Scotland Avenue, 4-1

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team travelled to nearby Albany College of Pharmacy in what is the "Battle of New Scotland Avenue." The host Panthers were a 4-1 winner in the contest and improve to 1-0 on the year, while the loss puts Sage at 0-2.

Scoring the lone goal for the Gators was sophomore forward Nicole Maher (Glen Clove, NY/Saint Dominic)

on a pass from sophomore midfielder Alexander Robert (Melrose, NY/Hoosic Valley), which tied the action at 1-1. The Panthers racked up three second half goals to collect their first victory of the season. Maher now has 14 career goals and 34 points on her young career.

Sage's junior goalkeeper Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) took the loss after making five saves.

Sage returns to action on Saturday, September 7 when they travel to Green Mountain College for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
