ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Junior striker Maddy Huggins (Mukilteo, WA) scored three consecutive goals in the first 12:30 of the game to lead the Bard College women's soccer team to an 8-1 victory over Sage on Wednesday night.

Huggins struck at the 1:11 mark on a feed from freshman Sylvia Kool (Clifton Park, NY), at 10:39 from junior Brianna Bean (Kaheohe, HI), and unassisted at 12:30 before taking a seat with the other Bard starters midway through the first half.

Huggins finished with three goals and an assist, Bean had two goals and an assist, and single goals were scored by sophomores Megan Snyder (York, PA), Joanna Regan (Selden, NY) and Alana Shaw (San Francisco, CA).

Freshman Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/ Saint Dominic) scored Sage's only goal, her third of the season, in the 32nd minute of the first half when her cross was mishandled by Bard keeper Ryan O'Connell (Staten Island, NY) and slipped over the goal line.

Sophomore keeper Teagan Waddingham (Coeymans Hollow, NY/Ravena Coeymans-Selkirk) made eight saves for Sage, 0-3. Next up for the Gators is a non-league game at Skidmore College on Sept. 11.

Sage returns to action on Tuesday, September 11 at Skidmore College for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
