Wildcats stun Gators

Utica, NY---The Sage's women's soccer team travelled to SUNY-IT for a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats collected the win as they beat Sage, 1-0. SUNY-IT improves to 4-6, while Sage falls to 4-3 overall.

SUNY-IT's sophomore midfielder Stephanie Wurz (Utica, NY/Notre Dame) provided the lone goal of the contest as she converted a feed from sophomore Abbey Hanehan (Stillwater, NY/Stillwater) at 33:56. The score would stick as the Wildcats earned the win.

 

SUNY-IT's Amanda Myers (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) earned the win and the shutout, while Sage's senior goalie Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) suffered the loss to fall to 4-2 in net after making 10 saves.

Sage returns to action on Saturday, October 1 hosting NYU-Poly at 1 p.m. in a Skyline Conference match-up. In addition to the contest, Sage will be holding their annual Tailgator in conjunction with the game, which will be followed by a home men's contest with NYU-Poly at 3:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Soccer Plex (Glenmont, NY).
