Sage drops 1-0 decision to St. Joe's in OT

 

Coram, NY---The Sage Colleges women's soccer team traveled to St. Joseph's College on Saturday for their Skyline Conference opener. The game went to St. Joe's, 1-0 in overtime as the Eagles tallied the only goal of the game in the extra time. St. Joseph's improves to 3-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the league, while Sage falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

 

St. Joseph's Samantha Garcia tallied the game-winner at 91:24 on a feed from Nicole Christensen after a scramble off a corner kick. The goal was her third of the fall and her first game-winner.

 

In goal for the Gators, was Sage's senior goalie Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) as she made six in the contest. St. Joe's Michelle Gulino picked up the shutout with her two saves on Saturday.

 

Sage returns to action on September 23 hosting Mt. Saint Mary College on Thursday at 4 p.m. in a Skyline Conference match to be held at Albany Academy for Girls.
