Marszalek scores twice as Gators roll past Cobleskill, 4-1

Stillwater, NY---Sage College's sophomore forward Rebecca Marszelak (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) found the net twice on Sunday as the Gators beat SUNY-Cobleskill, 4-1. With the win, Sage is now 3-2 while Cobleskill drops to 3-4.

Sage would lead 3-0 at the break after Marszalek found the net on a feed from junior Ashley Allain (Stillwater, NY/Stillwater) at 9:25. The Gators are 3-0 when Marszalek scores this fall. Senior midfielder Krystal Cozzens (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) added the team's second score on a feed from freshman Rebecca Doble (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) and Allain at 40:25. Marszalek added her second score of the match, marking her sixth goal of the year. Marszalek leads the team with her 13 points on six goals and assist.

Allain and Doble would finish with a pair of assists in the match elevating Allain's team-leading total to seven on the fall. Cobleskill's junior forward Kristen Raina (Granby, MA/Granby) broke up the Gators' shutout bid with her tally at 49:21 on a feed from forward Mandy Swartz (Attica, NY/Attica). Sage's Grace Collett (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) would finish the scoring on the day as the rookie earned her first career score with just two minutes left to play.

Sage's junior goalie Brittany McDonald (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) recorded six saves on the day and is now 3-2 in net. Cobleskill's freshman Beth Nearing (Cobleskill, NY) would make 11 stops on the day for the Fighting Tigers.

Sage returns to action on September 26 when they squad will host Saint Joseph's College  at Stillwater High School at 1 p.m. in the team's first Skyline Conference match of the year. SUNY-Cobleskill returns to action on September 22 hosting Oswego State at 4 p.m.
