Hines tallies 100th career point as Women's Lacrosse Tops Alfred,18-11

Alfred, NY –  Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team picked up an 18-11 win over Alfred University as junior attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) tallied her 100th career point. Hines tallied five goals with an assist in helping the team to a key Empire 8 win. RSC improves to 4-5overall and 1-2 in the league. Alfred drops to 1-8 overall and 1-2 in the E8.

Hines helped the Gators take a 9-6 lead at the half as they never looked back scoring eight goals in the third quarter. Hines now has 103 career points which is third best all-time at RSC. Her 87 career goals is also third highest, while she now has a team-best 50 points this season on 40 goals with 10 assists.

Senior midfielder Caroline Musinski (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) added four goals in the contest. She is also climbing the Gators record book as she now has 81 career points and is seventh, while her 27 career assists is now third.

Junior attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) tallied two goals with an assist. Queeney is now fifth in career points and fourth with her 22 career assists.

RSC's junior midfielder Ashley Hearn (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) also added two goals with six ground ball pickups and four caused turnovers. Junior midfielder Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) and sophomore Maddison Walter (Moreau, NY/South Glens Falls) both scored twice for RSC.

Sophomore goalie Madalyn Walsh (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) made four saves in the match improves to 4-5in goals this spring.

Looking ahead, the Gators travel to Keuka College for an Empire 8 game on April 15 1 p.m.
