Record setting night as RSC women's lacrosse rolls past Bard, 23-6

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY –  Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team travelled to Bard College for a non-conference contest with the Raptors. By night's end, RSC established new program records for most goals in a game, most points in a game and most assists in a game as well after they drubbed Bard, 23-6. RSC is now 3-4 overall, while Bard drops to 1-7.

RSC jumped out to 9-3 lead after the first quarter and led 15-5 at the half. By game's end, seven different players scored for the Gators and helped to rewrite several program marks for a single-game. RSC's 23 goals broke the record for most goals in a game (21 vs. Houghton, April 17, 2021), most points with 33 (30 vs. Houghton, April 17, 2021), while also tying the mark for most assists with 10. The team also broke the mark for most draw controls in a game with 23 and with 47 shots in the game, that effort stands second best.

Junior attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) led all scorers with her eight points on seven goals with an assist. She added 12 draw controls with five groundballs as well in the contest.  She is now second on the career list with her 135 draw controls, while standing fourth with her 21 career assists, while her 59 goals stands sixth best.

Junior attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) racked up seven points on six goals with an assist. She converted both of her free position attempts for goals in the contest. Hines leads the Gators this season with 43 points on 34 goals with nine assists. On her career, she now ranks third with 96 career points and 81 goals.

RSC's junior midfielder Ashley Hearn (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) also had a strong effort as she had four goals with an assist, while adding four draw controls with three ground ball pickups.

Sophomore goalie Madalyn Walsh (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) made three saves in the match and earned the win as she allowed only six goals. She is now 3-4in net as a Gator newcomer. Also appearing was newcomer Jaia Caron (Bellow Falls, VT/Bellow Falls Union).

Looking ahead, the Gators host Hartwick College in an Empire 8 game on April 5 at ACP Stadium with a 3 p.m.start time.
