Three Gators Earn All-Empire 8 Conference Honors

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had three women's lacrosse players receive All-Empire 8 Conference honors. The league's head coaches conducted voting for the squads.

Junior goalkeeper Madeline Butta (Millbrook, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) and junior defender Brylee Pelfrey (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) made the third-team. Butta (above) played every minute in the cage for the Gators (5-9/2-4 E8). She averaged 9.64 saves per-game, good for second on the circuit, and ranked second in the E8 with a .456 save percentage.

Pelfrey, who started all 14 games on defense, led the Gators with 24 caused turnovers and secured 32 groundballs. She ranked third in the conference with 1.71 caused turnovers per-game.

Sophomore attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) represented the program on the E8 Sportswomen of the Year Team.  Hines topped RSC with 40 points on 38 goals and two assists.  She corralled 31 groundballs, caused 14 turnovers and controlled 14 draws. Hines concluded her campaign sitting fifth in the conference with 2.71 goals per-game.
