Gators Roll to "Senior Day" Victory

ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College improved its Empire 8 Conference ledger to 2-0, cruising past visiting Keuka 13-3 this afternoon at ACP Stadium.

Sophomore attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) topped the Gators, which led 5-1 after the opening quarter, with seven goals. Junior attacker Caroline Musinski (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) contributed two goals and two assists, while freshman midfielder Aimee Rodriquez (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) put a pair into the net.

Junior goalkeeper Madeline Butta (Millbrook, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes), stood tall on "Senior Day". After being one of three players to be honored before the game, she stopped 17 of the 20 shots that she faced. The 17 saves established a career-high.

Junior attacker Sidney Bonetti led Keuka (3-5/0-2 E8) with two goals.

RSC (5-5/2-0 E8) is scheduled to play next on Wednesday at Utica. The E8 game is set to begin at 6:00 PM.


Senior Day: Before the contest, Russell Sage College Athletics recognized three players: senior defender Alexandra Lettre (Kingston, NY/Kingston), midfielder Caitlyn Lopeck (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream South), a grad student, Butta for their contributions to the women's lacrosse program.


Notes: Hines ranks second in the conference with 3.30 goals per-game...She paces RSC with 34 points, 33 goals and one assist...This afternoon was the fifth time this spring that Butta recorded double-digit saves.
