Hines pours in 5 goals as Gators roll to second straight win

Utica, NY — Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team posted a 16-6 road win on Sunday afternoon over SUNY-Poly. The Gators led 10-2 at the half and never looked back en route to the team's second straight victory. RSC is now 3-4 overall, while the Wildcats drop to 0-4.

Sophomore attacker Grace Hines (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) led the Gators as she poured in five goals. She leads the team this season with her 21 points on 20 goals with one assist.

RSC's sophomore attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) connected for three goals with an assist, and added five ground balls with three draws in the contest. Sophomore co-captain Lailah Espinal (Mastic Beach, NY/William Floyd) added finished with three goals in the match on Sunday.  On the season, Queeney now has 20 points on 15 goals with five assists, while Espinal has 15 points on 10 goals with five assists. 

Senior defender Alexandra Lettre (Kingston, NY/Kingston) also picked up three ground balls in the match, elevating her career numbers to include 96 ground balls which ranks No. 3 all-time. She also stands fourth in career caused turnovers with 52.

In goal for the Gators, senior Madeline Butta (Millbrook, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) made four saves in the match in picking up her second straight victory and moves to 3-4 this spring.

RSC closes March on the road, playing at SUNY Plattsburgh on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
