Sage falls to CMSV

Albany, NY— The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Monday night in a non-conference match held at ACP's Stadium. The Dolphins posted the 17-5 win to improve to 6-5 overall, while Sage drops to 2-9 on the season.

CMSV led 9-2 at the break and were paced by the play of sophomore Emma Dell'Aquila (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place)as she added four goals with two assists. Rookie midfielder Sophia Raccolin (Carle Place, NY/Carle Place) added four goals as well for the Dolphins.

Sage's junior Anne Risler (Albany, NY/Academy of the Holy Names) collected three goals for the Gators with four draw controls and two ground ball pickups.  Risler leads the Gators with her 32 points on 30 goals and two assists.

Junior Brittany Gage (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) added two goals and an assist in the action for the Gators. She is now third with her 18 career assists, while standing sixth in goals (36) and no. 8 in career points (54). She is second all-time with her 109 career draw controls. Risler stands No. 6 in both points (66) and goals (57).

Starting goalkeeper Marina Azab (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) made five saves in 32 plus minutes of work with 12 goals allowed. Sophomore Carly Plaisance (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) stopped four shots with five goals allowed in almost 28 minutes of work.

CMSV's sophomore goalie Allyson Weakliem (Skillman, NJ/Montgomery) collected the win after making two saves with five goals allowed in the match.

Sage is home again on Wednesday, April 17 hosting Cazenovia College in a non-conference game at 4 p.m. at ACP's Stadium. Sage will hold their Yards for Yeardley game on Wednesday. The College of Mt. St. Vincent is back in action in a Skyline Conference match at SUNY-Old Westbury on April 17 at 3:30 p.m.
