Patchogue, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team travelled to the face the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-Long Island in the final regular-season match of the 2017 season. The host Golden Eagles collected a 19-5 victory to earn the No. 2 seed in the Skyline Conference tournament. While Sage falls to 7-8 on the year and 4-4 in the Skyline, to Gators did earn the first selection in the program's history to the Skyline Conference Tournament. The final seeds will be released later this evening, but Sage which started women's lacrosse in 2009 will be competing in the 2017 Skyline Conference tournament when the league post-season championship opens on May 2. Sage will take on Mt. St. Mary College on the road on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the 2017 tournament.

The Golden Eagles led 13-3 at the half and were paced by the strong play of Brooke Kreuscher as she had 10 points on seven goals with three assists. Nicole Stoppelli added one goal and five assists in the action.

Sage's junior Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) led the team with her three goals, while graduate player Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) tallied one goal with two assists. Senior attacker Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) added one assist in the contest, tying her own single-season assist record with 16.

Koralus leads Sage on the 2017 campaign with her 81 points on 65 goals with 16 assists, all new active single-season records she set in 2016.  She continues to add to her resume as the program's all-time scoring leader as well with 230 points, 178 goals and 52 assists. On her career, Maher now boasts 55 goals in just two seasons on the team and is already fourth in goals and fourth in assists (12) as well as fourth with her 67 career points.

Sperl, a newcomer to Sage this season is the Gators' second leading scorer with her 37 points on 35 goals with a pair of assists.

Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) and sophomore keeper Jenna Cislak (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) shared time in the net as St. Pierre took the loss. The program's all-time saves leader, she has amassed 534 saves in her four seasons at Sage.
