Record setting victory for Sage's women's lacrosse team as Gators Top CMSV, 18-7

Riverdale, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team travelled to the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Tuesday for a Skyline Conference match and collected an 18-7 win. The victory puts Sage at 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the Skyline Conference. The seven wins in a season is a Sage women's lacrosse first, while the four league victories is also a Sage first. The win also represents the 12th career win for Sage's second-year head coach Lauren Marois who is now the program's all-time victory leader.

Marois surpassed Pete Stapleton's 11 career wins that he amassed in his four seasons as the head coach of the women's lacrosse team at Sage.

Sage led 14-4 at the half and cruised to the win, the Gators' sixth in the last seven games as junior Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) led the team with her five goals.  Senior attacker Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) added four goals with two assists, while graduate player Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) tallied three goals with an assist. Not to be left out, junior midfielder Adriana Spucches (Saugerties, NY/Red Hook) added three goals.

Koralus leads Sage on the 2017 campaign with her 80 points on 65 goals with 15 assists, all new active single-season records she set in 2016. She surpassed her 2016 totals that included 79 points on 64 goals with 15 assists. She continues to add to her resume as the program's all-time scoring leader as well with 229 points, 178 goals and 51 assists.

On her career, Maher now boasts 54 goals in just two seasons on the team and is already fourth in goals and fourth in assists (10) as well as fourth with her 64 career points.

Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) and sophomore keeper Jenna Cislak (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) shared in the win as they each played a half. St. Pierre made the start and earned the win after making two saves with four goals allowed, while Cislak added 10 saves with three goals allowed.

Sage will close the 2017 regular-season at St. Joseph's College-LI on April 29 in a 4 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up as the Gators will look to pen their name into the record books once again with the program's first possible post-season appearance.
