Rams spoil Senior Night for Sage women's lacrosse team

Troy, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Saturday night in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Rams rolled to a 20-7 win to improve to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the league. The loss snaps Sage's record five-game win streak and puts the Gators at 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the league.

The Rams held a 10-1 lead at the break and racked up the squad's third straight win on Saturday as three different players collected five points in the action. Senior midfielder Brittany Rosario (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) added five goals elevating her season total to 35 goals. Senior Kristen Keller (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clark) and sophomore Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, NY/Division Avenue) each added four goals and an assist as well, giving the pair 42 and 33 points, respectively.

Sage's senior tri-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) added two goals in the contest with an assist, while graduate player Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) and junior Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) each added two goals for the Gators.

Koralus leads Sage on the 2017 campaign with her 74 points on 61 goals with 13 assists. Sage's all-time scoring leader now has 223 career points on 174 goals and 49 assists. Sperl is the team's second leading scorer this spring with 29 points on 27 goals with two assists, while Maher is right behind her with 26 points on 22 goals and four assists. On her career, Maher now boasts 51 goals in just two seasons on the team and is already fourth in goals and fourth with her 60 career points.

Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) recorded 10 saves in the action, elevating her active career record to include 531 saves. FSC's sophomore keeper Tori Johnston (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge) added seven saves in earning the win for the Rams.
