Record setting day as Sage beats SVC, 17-4 in women's lacrosse action

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont College on Thursday afternoon. The Gators racked up the program's fourth straight win after topping SVC, 17-4. Sage led 8-4 at the half and held the Mountaineers scoreless in the second half as they improve to 5-6 overall. SVC falls to 5-4.

In the first half of the match, Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) collected her 500th career save, a Sage first. By game's end, she had 10 saves and earned the win, the 15th over her career, another Sage career record. St. Pierre now has 506 saves in net during her four-year career.

Sage's senior tri-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) added another multi-goal game as she led all performers with her seven goals and two assists. She has now collected three or more goals in a game in nine of the team's 11 games this season. Koralus has a team-best 56 goals with 9 assists for 65 points. She leads the team with her active career marks for most points (214), most goals (169 goals) and 45 assists.

Junior attacker Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) poured out five goals in the contest, a career-best for the performer who is the team's second leading scorer this spring with 22 goals and 23 points.

Graduate performer, attacker Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) added three goals as well for Sage.

Elms's senior midfielder Mel Orrell (Gloucester, MA/Gloucester) added 2 goals in the contest for the Mountaineers.  Junior goalie Kristiana Goldup (Schuylerville, NY/Schuylerville) added 12 saves in the contest.

The Gators are back in action on Wednesday, April 19 hosting SUNY-Old Westbury in a 4 p.m. Skyline Conference match, while Southern Vermont College hosts Wheelock College on April 15 at 1 p.m.
