Koralus records 200th career point after adding 11 in Sage's 19-12 win over Elms

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Trailblazers of Elms College on Tuesday evening in a non-conference game. The contest featured three lead changes and three ties as the Trailblazers held an 8-7 lead at the half. Last tied at 10-10, Sage reeled off seven unanswered goals in the second half en route to the 19-12 win. The victory marks the first time in Sage's women's lacrosse program history the Gators are riding a three-game win streak. With the win, Sage is now 4-6 overall, while the loss puts Elms at 6-2.

Sage's senior tri-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) exploded for 11 points with 10 goals and an assist. She also added her 200th career point early in the first half, becoming the first player in Sage women's lacrosse history to achieve the feat. By night's end, she had tallied 11 points giving her 205 career points on 162 goals and 43 assists. The reigning Skyline Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week, she leads Sage with her 49 goals and seven assists this season.

Junior attacker Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) collected four goals for the Gators in the contest, elevating her season total to include 18 points on 17 goals and an assist.

For Elms, sophomore Vanessa Vurno (Salem, CT/East Lyme) added four goals with two assists, while rookie midfielder Haley Richard (Monson, MA/Monson) finished with three goals and an assist. Freshman Alecia Keesee (Westfield, MA/Westfield) added three goals as well for the Trailblazers. Vurno boasts 35 points on 17 goals with 18 assists, while Richard has 33 points on 27 goals with six assists.

Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) earned the win with her six saves. She now boasts a career record 496 saves and 14 wins in goal as a Gator.

Elms's senior keeper Meeghan O'Connor (Fall River, MA/Bishop Connolly) was impressive with 17 saves in the contest.

The Gators are back in action on Thursday. April 13 hosting Southern Vermont College at 4 p.m. at ACP, while  Elms College visits Mitchell College on Thursday in a 4 p.m. road match.
