Koralus's nine points lift Gators past Panthers in Skyline Women's Lacrosse action, 16-13

Purchase, NY- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team travelled to face the Panthers of Purchase College on Wednesday night in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Gators led 9-7 at the half and went on to cruise to a 16-13 win as senior tri-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) exploded for nine points after adding eight goals an assist. With the victory, Sage is now 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while Purchase drops to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Koralus racked up her nine points to add to her impressive senior season numbers. She leads the Gators with 31 goals, five assists and 36 points. She has maintained her impressive record-setting efforts with every visit to the field. She has 185 career points on 144 goals with 41 assists.

Graduate performer Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) posted three goals in the action, while rookie Brittany Gage (Saugerties, NY/Red Hook) and junior attacker Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) each had two points. Sperl is the Gators' second leading scorer with her 14 points on 13 goals with an assist, while Gage now has three goals on the year.

Sage's senior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) earned the win with her 14 saves in the night match-up, elevating her resume to include 482 saves with 12 career wins in net. Both Sage women's goal keeping records.

The Gators are back in action on Friday, April 7 for a 7 p.m. home match-up with Maritime College at RPI's Renwyck Field (Troy, NY).
