Sage Women's Lacrosse Trio and Team Among NCAA Stats leaders for 2016

Indianapolis, INWith the release of the final NCAA Division III statistics for women's lacrosse in 2016, The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team and three of its players were among the top performers for the year with their efforts.

As a team, Sage was ranked in 12 different categories, while standing among the Top 100 in a pair of categories as the Gators were ranked 22nd in Division III having caused 12.13 turnovers per game of the 268 ranked programs. Sage was also ranked 76th in free position shot percentage as they had a .427 percentage on the year as they scored 38 goals on 89 free position shot attempts.

Individually, Sage's trio of senior co-captain Jena Jacot (Parishville, NY/Parishville-Hopkinton Central), junior co-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook), and junior goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) were nationally ranked for their outstanding play in 2016.

Sage's 2016 season was a record-setting one as rookie head coach Lauren Marois, produced three Skyline Conference All-Stars, while the Gators went 5-10 overall and 1-6 in the league. The five wins breaks the program's mark for most wins in a season along the way, while also shattering the mark for most goals in a season (158) and most points (189) and tying the mark for most assists in a season with 31.

Koralus, who was also a Skyline Conference First Team All-Star and the team's 2016 Gator of the Year as the Most Outstanding Player, shattered most of the program's career and single-season marks along the way. She led the Gators with 77 points on 64 goals and 15 assists, all of which are single-season marks. She is also the program's career leader in all three categories as she has 149 points on a record 113 goals and 36 assists, while also holding the career mark for most draw controls after adding a single-season record 64 this season to elevate her career total to 118.

With the release of the final NCAA Division III statistics, Koralus is among the national leaders in seven different categories. She was ranked No. 13 in goals per game average with her 4.27 goals per game average. She was also No. 31 in goals, No. 27 in points per game average (5.27), while also ranking 66th in points (79), No. 16 free position goals per game (1.07), No. 65 free position percentage (.552) and No. 73 draw controls per game (4.27).

St. Pierre, who also holds Sage's career saves mark in her three years in goal with 423 saves, while also boasting a record 10 career wins in net. She finished her junior season as the Gator net minder with her 9.13 saves per game average, which ranked 59th in Division III. She added 137 saves on the 2016 campaign which was 87th best in the nation, while adding a .411 saves percentage (168th) and was also ranked in goals against average.

Jacot, who is the program's all-time leader for most caused turnovers with 66, while ranking third all-time with her 63 ground ball pickups. A two-time Skyline Conference all-star on defense, she caps her 2016 campaign with 4 points with 26 caused turnovers, 12 draw controls and 15 ground ball pickups. She ranked No. 83 in Division II with her 2.0 caused turnovers per game average.
