Record setting day for Sage Women's Lacrosse Team on Senior Day as Gators Romp, 20-4

Watervliet, NYThe Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Dolphins of the College of Mt. Vincent in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon. By day's end, the Gators had posted a 20-4 victory to break the mark for most wins in a season with their fifth victory, while junior captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) broke another mark as she broke the record for most goals in a season.  With the win Sage stands at 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline. CMSV drops to 0-11 overall and 0-5 in the league.

Sage led 12-3 at the break and by game's end, Koralus had attached her name to another program record as this time she broke the record for most goals in a season. She finished with eight goals and two assists in the match for her 57th goal of the year. She bettered the single-season scoring mark held by Alexa Pajak (2013, 53 goals) and also broke the single-season point mark also held by Pajak (64 points, 53 goals, 11 assists. Koralus now has a team-best 72 points on 57 goals and 15 assists. Koralus added eight draw controls and now has 115 career draw controls, which also leads the Sage program.

Senior Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic), who was honored prior to the game in conjunction with Senior Day, finished with five goals and two assists, giving her 25 goals and 29 points on the year. She stands No. 7 in career goals at Sage, while ranking No. 7 in points in just one year with the Gators.

Sophomore Martine Ianniello (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) added two goals and an assist, while  sophomore Nikki Pedone (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added two goals as seven different players scored in the match.

For the second straight game, senior defender and team co-captain Jena Jacot (Parishville, NY/Parishville-Hopkinton Central) also found the net. Jacot holds Sage's career caused turnover mark as she leads the program with 65 and now has added four goals with five assists and nine points as a defender.

Sage junior captain and goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made six saves in net for her efforts and collected the win, her record ninth on her career. The program's all-time saves leader, she has 124 this season and 410 on her career. She shared in the win with junior Chelsea Hunt (Verplank, NY/Handrick Hudson), who worked in net and made one save as well.

CMSV was led by rookie Cynthia O'Boyle (Manasquan, NJ/Manasquan) and sophomore Alicia Forgione )Lawrenceville, NY/Lawrence) as they each scored twice.

Sophomore Kaitlyn McGeown (Nutley, NJ/Immaculate Conception) made her debut in goal for the Dolphins and had nine saves in the contest.

The Gators will be back in action on April 26 travelling to Purchase College for a 4 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up with the Panthers.
