Koralus ties career goal scoring mark as Sage falls to Maritime

Throggs Neck, NYThe Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team travelled to the Maritime College for a Skyline Conference match-up. The Privateers tallied a 14-10 win over Sage to improve to 3-4 and 1-1 in the league. Sage drops to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Maritime held a 7-5 lead at the break. Sage tied the action in the second half at 7-7, but Maritime regained the lead moments later and the Gators were not able to cut into the Maritime

Sage's junior co-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) led the way on the day as she had eight points on seven goals and an assist.  Junior Martine Ianniello (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added two goals for the Gators in the action.  

Koralus surpassed the 50 point plateau on the season as she now has 41 goals with 10 assists. She tied the career goal scoring record in the contest as now has 90 career goals.  She tied the record held by Alexa Pajak with 90 goals (2012-2013). She now has the Sage career goal scoring mark, 90 goals, career assist record (31) as well as the career point mark as she has 121 points.

In goal, Sage's junior Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made nine saves in the contest for the Gators. She now has an active career record as she has 364 saves.

Sage will travels to Southern Vermont College on April 14 for a 4 p.m. non-conference match-up on Thursday.
