Gators fall short at Kings Point in women's lacrosse play

Kings Point, NYThe Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team travelled to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Friday night for a non-conference match in Brooks Stadium. Kings Point held an 11-4 lead at the half and went onto pick up a 13-7 win over the Gators. Kings Points is now 3-2 overall, while Sage drops to 3-5 on the season.

Sage's junior co-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) led the way on the night with three goals, while senior Nicole Maher (Glen Cover, NY/Saint Dominic) added two goals.  Sophomore Ellen Abbott (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) and junior Martine Ianniello (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) added one goal as well for the Gators.

Koralus leads Sage this season with 43 points on 34 goals with nine assists. She is the program's all-time career point leader with 113 points on 83 goals and 30 assists. She has a school-record 30 career assists and is No. 2 now with her 83 goals, just 7 shy of tying the mark held by Alexa Pajak (90 goals, 2012-2013).

In goal, Sage's junior Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made 13 saves in the contest for the Gators.

Sage will travels to Maritime College on April 9 for a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up.
