Troy, NY–The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Eagles of Green Mountain College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match-up. Sage's junior co-captain Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) poured in seven goals to lift Sage (1-1) past Green Mountain (1-3) on Tuesday afternoon. The win marked the first career victory for Sage's rookie head coach Lauren Marois.

Sage led 12-3 at the half and by game's end had tallied 19 goals, which ties the mark for second most goals in a contest, a feat Sage's teams have now achieved three times. Koralus led all scorers with her seven goals, giving her a program-best nine goals this season and helping her add to her career resume. She stands No. 2 all-time with 79 points, while ranking No. 3 in goals (56) and No. 1 in career assists (21).

For the Gators, sophomore midfielder Ellen Abbott (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) added five goals and an assist, while sophomore Nikki Pedone (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added four goals and an assist. Senior attacker Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, NY/Saint Dominic) added two goals and an assist as well for the team's offensive explosion on Tuesday.

GMC's sophomore Megan Scully (Henderson, NY/South Jefferson) added a team-best five goals, while sophomore Catie Brewster (Kingston, NY/Kingston) finished with a pair of goals.

In goal, Sage's junior Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) picked up the win as she made 12 saves in the contest. Already Sage's career victory leader in goal, she has six career wins and continues to draw closer to the program's career saves mark. She has 308 saves, just shy of surpassing the mark held by Courtney Reed (324, 2010-2013).

GMC's rookie goalie Chelsea Wimble (Colhester, VT/Colchester) took the loss after making 11 saves in the action.

Sage returns to action on March 17 travelling to Elms College for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest. Green Mountain College is back in action on March 22 against Elms College in a 7 p.m. contest.
