MSMC remains unbeaten in Skyline with 20-6 win over Sage lacrosse squad

 

Albany, NY-- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team hosted the Knights of Mt. St. Mary College on Tuesday night in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Knights led 14-4 at the break and went on to score a 20-6 win to remain unbeaten in the league as they are now 5-0 in the Skyline, while owning a 7-5 overall record. Sage drops to 1-9 overall and 1-4 in the league.

MSMC's offense was paced by four different players that each scored three goals, while junior Nicole Scicutella (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) had six points on two goals with four assists. Sophomore Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, NJ/North Valley Regional) added three goals in the action adding to her team-leading 53 points on 47 goals and 6 assists.

Sage's graduate student Shirah Fudin (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) connected on five goals in the contest, elevating her career resume to include 42 goals, which is No. 3 all-time at Sage. She has 46 career points as well, elevating her standing in career points to No. 5.  Sophomore Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) added a goal and assist in the night match-up, giving her 32 points on 23 goals and 9 assists. Koralus now has 52 career points and in the program's No. 2 all-time leading point scorer (38g, 14 a).

Sage's sophomore Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made 13 saves in the contest in her time in net with 19 goals allowed. Sophomore goalie Chelsea Hunt (Verplanck, NY/Hendrick Hudson) made four saves with one goal allowed. MSCM's rookie Carly Lennon (Bellmore, NY/JFK) collected the win as she allowed just six goals with two saves.

Sage returns to action on April 16 hosting Ramapo College at 5 p.m. at UAlbany's John Fallon Field.
