Koralus tallies 10 points as Gators triumph over Maritime

Albany, NY-- The Sage Colleges' women's lacrosse team held off Maritime College, 15-12 for the Gators' first win of the year. The Skyline Conference game was played at John Fallon Field on Thursday night as Sage led 8-7 at the break and despite a hard fought second half emerged with the key league win. Sage improves to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the Skyline, while Maritime falls to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the conference.          

Sage's sophomore Monica Kolarus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) exploded for eight goals and a pair of assists as she led the Gators.  She now has 21 goals with seven assists for 28 points, which now leads the squad. Graduate student Shirah Fudin (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) tallied six goals in the match and has 23 goals and three assists for 26 points.

Koralus moved into a tie for the No. 4 spot on the all-time Sage career point list as she has 41 points on 31 goals with 10 assists. She stands tied with Mallory Hansen (2013-2014) for 41 points.

Fudin, a Skyline Conference Honor Roll performer last week, now has 31 career goals and 4 assists for 35 points which is No. 5 on the all-time scoring list at Sage.

Maritime's junior midfielder Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, NY/Washingtonville) added three goals, while junior attacker Caroline Reynolds (Oswego, NY/Oswego) also connected for three goals for the Privateers.

Sage's sophomore Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made 12 saves in the contest to earn her first win of the season. Maritime's sophomore goalie Christina Finnen (Hicksville, NY/Holy Trinity) took the loss after making one save in the action.  

Sage returns to action on April 8 travelling to Purchase College for a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference match, while Maritime is back in action on April 8 hosting Mt. St. Mary College at 5 p.m. in a league match-up.
