Gator Seniors Go Out with Record-Setting Performance in 21-9 win

Albany, NY---The Sage Colleges women's lacrosse team hosted the Mariners of Mitchell College on Saturday in conjunction with Senior Day. The seniors were rewarded with a record-setting performance as Sage broke the single-game scoring mark with 21 goals as they beat the Mariners, 21-9. The 21 goals betters the 19 goals the Gators have achieved on two previous occasions and helps Sage finish the year with a record of 4-8. The four wins also ties a program-mark for most wins a season set by last year's Gators. Mitchell drops to 1-7 on the season.

Now in his third season as Sage's head coach, Pete Stapleton has quickly helped the women's lacrosse program grow as he now has nine wins in his three campaigns, the most of any Sage women's lacrosse coach.

Sage's sophomore Kimberlee Carr (Colonie, NY/Colonie Central) added a team-best five goals with an assist for six points and wraps her first season as a Gator with 49 points. Her 49 points already ranks No. 2 all-time in Sage's career record book. The Gators had six different players tally a pair of goals in the action as senior Emily Stevenson (Ithaca, NY/Newfield) racked up two goals with two assists for four points. She wraps her Sage career with 26 career points and ranks No. 5 all-time in career points. 

Sophomore Mallory Hansen (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) added two assists on the day and added three draw controls to become the program's all-time leader with 62 career draws. On the year, Hansen finished tied for the second leading scorer with her 15 goals and five assists. She finished tied with 20 points with rookie Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Millbrook) who added two goals and assist on Saturday to finish her season with 15 goals and five assists as well.

Junior Lindsay Millett (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) added two goals an assist in the action and continues to add to her active career mark as she now leads the program with 19 career assists. She caps her third season with seven points on three goals and four assists.

For the Mariners, rookie Ashley Murtha (South Windsor, CT/South Windsor) scored all nine goals and now leads her team with 37 goals and 39 points.

For the Gators, senior goalie Brittany Brown (Clifton Park, NY/Cohoes) made her first career start and made two saves with six goals allowed. She shared in the win with rookie goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made four saves, elevating her season total to 133, which stands No. 2 all-time.

Mitchell's junior goalie Anysia Lombardo (South Windsor, CT/South Windsor) made 10 saves in the loss.
