Strong effort leads Sage lacrosse team past CMSV for second straight win

Albany, NY---The Sage Colleges women's lacrosse team hosted the Dolphins of the College of Mt. St. Vincent in a Skyline Conference match Thursday. The Gators posted the 17-15 win to extend their win streak to two games and improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the league. The Dolphins drop to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the league.

Sage led 12-5 at the break, but CMSV racked up 10 second half goals and pulled within two goals in the final six minutes of play.

Sage newcomer, graduate student, Shirah Fudin (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) led the Gators with her five goals, while sophomores Kimberlee Carr (Colonie, NY/Colonie Central) and Mallory Hansen (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) each chipped in four goals to help Sage to the key Skyline victory.

On the season, Carr leads the Gators with her 35 goals, while Hansen and rookie Monica Koralus (Verbank, NY/Milbrook) each has 13 goals. Koralus added a goal and an assist on Thursday, elevating her season total to 17 points. Hansen has 16 on the year, while Fudin has nine points on eight goals and an assist in her two games played.

For the Gators, rookie goalie Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) made 19 saves in earning the win and is now 3-6 in goal.

Sage returns to action on April 12 travelling to Farmingdale State College for 3 p.m. Skyline Conference game with the Rams.
