Pasinella Eclipses 1,000 Career Points in Road Win

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior guard Sammy Pasinella (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) became just the ninth Russell Sage College women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points in Saturday's 71-56 Empire 8 Conference win at Medaille.

The two-time All-Conference selection, who ranks third in program records for career three-pointers, scored 18 points on 50.0 percent shooting to secure the milestone moment. She was one of three Gators (15-8/11-5 E8) to net twin figures in the road E8 matinee.

Forward Giuliana Pritchard (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam/Hartwick), a graduate student, registered 24 points on 12-of-22 shooting and 13 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season, while freshman guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) added 12 points.

Junior guard Xaneya Thomas topped Medaille (5-17/3-13 E8), now on a seven-game slide, with 21 points.

This afternoon marked the final road game of the regular season for RSC. The Gators wrap up the regular season with home games vs. Saint John Fisher and Nazareth on Friday and Saturday.
