RSC Erases Halftime Deficit to Secure Fifth-Straight Win

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College used a 21-7 second half run to pick up a 57-48 Empire 8 Conference victory at Hartwick on Tuesday night.

The stretch helped the Gators (14-7/10-4 E8) erase a halftime deficit and secure their fifth-consecutive win.

Sophomore guard Syrita Faraj (Troy, NY/Tamarac), who was named the E8 Player of the Week on Monday, topped all participants with 21 points on 50.0 percent shooting. The reigning E8 Rookie of the Year, grabbed eight rebounds and went 11-of-13 at the foul line. 

Forward Giuliana Pritchard (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam/Hartwick), a graduate student, registered 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting, 13 rebounds, and three blocks for her tenth double-double of the season. 

Junior forward Bree Fargnoli led Hartwick (6-14/4-10 E8) with 14 points.

Looking ahead, RSC looks to make it six-in-a-row on Friday at Houghton. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
